Caring for our home is caring for ourselves. Our self care is deeply intertwined with our home.Let’s take a look at how intimate our relationship is with our home.

One of the most important ways we take care of ourselves is by getting a good night's sleep. A good sleep is crucial to good health.

The place where we sleep is there with us while we are sleeping, or trying to sleep. The space has a profound influence on our sleep.

Our living space serves a purpose, a function to support us in this important way we care for ourselves. We are relating to the space while we prepare for and sleep.

In the morning when we wake up, the room where we sleep is there to greet us in the new day. Then we use the bathroom to use the toilet, brush our teeth, and wash our bodies.

Caring for ourselves in this way by eliminating waste and cleaning our bodies is a crucial part of being human. The bathroom serves an important purpose in our lives, we relate to the space when we use it.

Then it’s time to drink water, make tea or coffee and eat some breakfast! This all happens in the kitchen. The room serves a function of taking care of us, giving us the space and tools we need to first cook, then eat. We are in a relationship with the room and the things in the room.

So when we care for our house as a whole, we are caring for ourselves. We are caring for our lives.

Each day has a routine, a cycle and serves an important part of our life. The things we do daily, the way we do them make a difference in the quality of our life.

Our living space influences these daily routines. Do we feel held and cared for by the space? What can we do to care for our space so we can be cared for by the space?

In the video I share more on this topic of how caring for ourselves goes hand in hand with caring for our home.
